Waverly Education Foundation

Over 30 Years of Commitment to Waverly Community Schools

Our History

How we came to be

The Waverly Education Foundation (WEF) was established in 1993 to support the students and programs of Waverly Community Schools. It was created as a result of the Superintendent’s School Business Partnership Committee, chaired by Dr. Jon Reynolds, with the goal of establishing an alternative funding source for teachers. The foundation was launched with an initial $10,000 grant from Mrs. Susan Steiner Bolhous, which was invested to build the foundation’s endowment fund.

Our Mission

The purpose of WEF is to grow an independent funding source to benefit students when traditional school funding is unavailable. Through yearly grants and scholarships, we provide critical support to recognized schools within the Waverly School District. These grants are made possible through the generosity of individual and business memberships, as well as fundraising efforts.

What We Do

WEF funds innovative projects that encourage learning and academic progress. Teachers and staff can apply for grants to support programs and initiatives that directly benefit students. In addition, WEF hosts events throughout the year to raise community awareness and support for our mission.
